Features

A focused tool that does one thing, very fast.

Hold-to-talk hotkey

Hold Option (or any modifier you pick). Speak. Release. The pill fades in, fades out, your text is in your cursor. Works in every macOS app.

Sub-second transcription

Whisper-large-v3-turbo on Groq's LPUs. End-to-end paste in ~600 ms for short utterances. Faster than typing the same sentence.

Pastes where you are

Lands at the cursor in any app: Notes, Slack, VS Code, browser URL bars, terminal, anywhere. Your existing clipboard is preserved, not overwritten.

Optional LLM polish

Llama-3.3 strips filler words, fixes punctuation, capitalizes names. Toggle on or off. Raw transcript stays in History either way.

Custom dictionary

Names, brands, jargon. Whisper biases toward your terms via prompt injection. Stop fighting "Anthrop-ick" and "GraphQL" autocorrects.

14 languages

Auto-detect or pin a language: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic.

Music auto-pause

Apple Music or Spotify playing? LazyType pauses on hold, resumes after paste. Toggle in Settings, off by default.

Searchable history

Every transcript with raw + polished side-by-side, latency, language, duration. Search, copy, replay. Stays local on your Mac.

Lightweight

~100 MB DMG, ~80 MB RAM idle, zero background traffic. Native Swift helper for global hotkey, no kernel extensions.

How it works

Three motions. No menus, no modes.

01

Hold the hotkey

Option, anywhere on macOS. The pill fades in.

02

Speak normally

Long sentences, code, names. No robot voice required.

03

Release. It pastes.

Transcript lands at the cursor in around 600 ms.

FAQ

Things people ask.

Audio is streamed to Groq for transcription, then discarded. Groq does not retain audio for training. We do not store any of your audio either. A fully on-device option (Whisper.cpp + Apple Silicon Neural Engine) is on the roadmap; until it ships, treat dictation like any cloud STT service.
14 languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Turkish, Arabic. Auto-detect works for all of them; pin a language in Settings if you mostly speak one.
Pick a different modifier (Command, Control, Shift, Fn) in Settings. The hold-to-talk listener only fires on a long press, so a quick tap of Option still types accent characters as normal.
Up to 3 devices per license. Activations are tracked server-side by hardware fingerprint, so reinstalling on the same Mac doesn't burn a slot. If you sell a Mac and need to deactivate it, email support.
Yes. Universal binary, runs on macOS 14+ on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel. Latency is identical because the heavy lifting happens on Groq's hardware.
7 days, full feature set, no credit card required. We track the trial start by your Mac's hardware fingerprint, so reinstalling doesn't reset it. After 7 days the app prompts for a license key.
Optional. Toggle "Pause music while talking" in Settings. Apple Music and Spotify pause on hold and resume after paste; off by default.
Your version keeps working forever. New macOS releases sometimes break things; if that happens after your update window ended, you can pay €19,99 again for another 12 months of updates. No subscription, no auto-renew.
